These are quick automated checks on the homepage, the same first look I take before writing to a council. Automated tools catch roughly half of accessibility issues; a proper manual review, keyboard and screen-reader testing, finds the rest. A clean result here is a good sign, not a certificate. If you'd like the full picture for your council, just ask.

Is a new website actually required?

A website is not itself compulsory. But if the council has one, it must meet WCAG 2.2 AA and publish an accessibility statement, and this year Assertion 10 puts that in front of your internal auditor. A compliant site is the simplest way to a clean answer.

What does a rebuild cost?

A fixed £650 to £850 depending on the size of the council. One payment, the first year's hosting included, and the council owns the site and domain outright. Nothing monthly. I only invoice once the site is live and the council has approved it.

We already have a supplier.

If it is genuinely working, I will not talk you out of it. Worth checking two things: does your current site actually pass the standard, and does the council own it, or is it rented. Many platform sites are rented, so a supplier closing can leave you re-procuring. Mine is owned outright, with no lock-in.

How is it done in a day?

The scope is fixed and I prepare your content in advance from your public information. On build day the site is assembled, checked for accessibility, and put live on your domain. You are invoiced only once it is live and approved.
